Our Story and Team

With over 10 years of experience of teaching around the world, SwimStars.London has created a unique way to teach and develop your swimming. We are very focused on water safety and swimming technique, but our approach is to get there by helping the students to feel good about themselves. You can expect a lot of praise, high fives and so on as we positively look to teach and develop everyone we work with.

We are a mobile swimming company designed to come to the comfort of your own home. Our aim is to make swimming a stress-free experience, so no rush to get to the lesson and a relaxed and known environment for either you or your little ones.

What makes us so popular with our clients is our commitment to deliver the highest quality swimming lessons, focusing on water safety, swimming technique and most importantly, feeling good about yourself.

Our lessons and feedback are always delivered with positivity. Our goal is to make your children or yourself excited and to look forward to the next lesson, holidays, competition or casual swim to show off your new skills.

MEET THE TEAM

My name is Juliana

I’m the founder of SwimStars.London. My passion for swimming started from a very young age. As far back as I can remember, I’ve been in the pool! They’ve been some of my happiest memories while growing up.

I’ve been involved with swimming and diving for my whole childhood and teenage years, practicing during the week and racing on the weekends. Funnily enough my first job back home was a swimming assistant for children aged 4 to 6, I remembered loving it and getting goosebumps when the children mastered a skill or overcame a fear by themselves.

Moving to London, I moved away from teaching for a few years, however my heart still belonged to swimming and while at university doing a BSc in Human Nutrition, I started teaching again – and nutrition nowadays is more of a hobby. What I love about being a swimming teacher is seeing the excitement of my clients to get in the water, see their confidence grow and how proud they are after mastering a skill is absolutely priceless. My aim is not only to get the young students safe, confident and skilled in the water, but to have fond memories of the experience, too.

As a swimming teacher I was lucky enough to teach in 4 different countries, Brazil, the UK, Australia and Germany, working for top companies with some of the best professionals. I’m proud that I am a consultant on baby and toddlers swimming classes and respected among the swimming community around London and Sydney, conducting training and creating baby & toddler swimming programs.

I am very proud to bring this experience, passion and drive to SwimStars.London and make swimming a fulfilling and memorable experience.

My qualifications include:

  • National Rescue
  • Award for Swimming
  • Teachers and Coaches ASA/UKCC level 2 Certificate
  • STA Baby and Pre-School Diploma Up-Skill
  • Infant and Preschool, AUSTSWIM
  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, AUSTSSWIM
  • YMCA Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing Water-Based (Aqua Aerobics) Exercise

Jordana

Hi there! I was first introduced to swimming at the age of 5 and later went on to compete in diving in the Brazilian national championship. I can therefore certainly say that aqua sports has been a major part of my life for the last 30 years.

During a break from aquatics I took some time off to start a family and embark in the dance world where I taught dance for children for over a decade. During this time I took a backseat from aquatic sports but from time-to-time I would go for the Aquatic center where it all started. I would try some diving from the10m platform or do some laps in the 50m pool.

When my family and I moved to London, I decided to follow my calling and share my love for swimming.

Since then I have completed my lifeguard qualification as well as my STA level 2 and STA baby qualification and I now share my passion and expertise all over London.

I like my lessons to be fun and relaxed for children. All my clients love our positive attitudes and by being a mother of two, I totally get the expectations of parents as I work alongside them to bring the best of each child. On my journey as a teacher, I have helped many children, adults and children with disabilities to achieve their goal.

I love teaching and I share the values of SwimStars.London which is water safety comes first, technique is a must, and all should be delivered in a positive manner.

Vanessa

Hi! I’m Vanesa and I’ve loved being around water ever since I can remember, starting from dipping my toes in the sea, to learning how to swim and now teaching this wonderful and important life skill.

I learned to swim from a very young age, and my love for water has pushed me to work in this industry for the last 10 years. I have a lot of experience under my belt ranging from working for swimming centres and a baby & toddler swim school, to managing and training groups of instructors.

I am very patient when I teach, always making sure that my swimmers are progressing whilst keeping my lessons safe, fun, engaging and enjoyable. Swimming is such an important life skill and I gain a real personal reward from seeing the progress being made by each and every swimmer and knowing that this skill will last them forever.
